ALBUQUERQUE ACADEMY 4, PIEDRA VISTA 1: After giving up a goal on a 40-yard bomb just nine minutes into the match, then losing one of their top players to a red card while scoring the equalizer in the 19th minute, the Chargers (7-2) dominated play to get the victory.
All it took was a little something outstanding, said Academy coach Laney Kolek.
“Pure magic,” she said of Ben Morgan’s amazing goal in the 59th minute that essentially sealed the game against the Panthers (6-2).
“It was one of the most incredible goals I have seen in my entire career.”
